Jiabao Kindergarten’s bilingual programme uses unique EduDrama® approach that has been successfully applied to early childhood education for more than 30 years. It provides children of 3-6 years old with a dramatically different learning journey. Through engaging and proactive communication, clear teaching and learning structure, positive discipline and enabling environment, we believe every child will turn out to be a confident, curious, creative, loving, diversified and wonderful human being.
▶ Immersion Bilingual Education
Many studies have shown that learning two languages (or more) can improve the overall functionality of our brains to become better thinkers. Moreover, children can perceive the world with a more open and inclusive mind and a broader perspective in the process of experiencing different cultures. Our bilingual immersion kindergarten is designed to enable kids to understand and explore this world using two languages. Our unique programme activities flow naturally between two language media, enabling children to enjoy both codes through exciting, interactive and original activities.
▶ Unique EduDrama® Methodology
EduDrama® combines drama with planned educational outcomes to foster learning through interaction and active involvement and to engage children in using and extending their language communication knowledge and strengths.
We use a wide range of drama tools such as improvising, theatre, puppetry, role-play, storytelling, reading aloud, dramatic poetry and creative writing. Students are engaged and challenged to draw upon their own interpretation and add their own experiences to express their ideas. EduDrama® builds strong self-expression, confidence, creativity, collaboration with others, compassion, courage, cognition and commitment to continuous growth.
▶Learning Centers
Our programme incorporates learning centers to provide children with the opportunity to explore and experiment as well as to support their individual learning styles, thus enhancing their development in all areas. In addition to the pre-set activities, the content of learning centers can also be built up based on children’s interests in order to stimulate their passion and enthusiasm and drive for independent learning.
▶ Small Class and Individual-Centered Education
In order to meet the growing needs of children at different ages, we have been sparing no effort to provide the most competent education team.
During N2, each class has one English teacher, one Chinese teacher, and two class helpers. In K1 and K2, each class has one English teacher, one Chinese teacher, one teaching assistant and one class helper. One English support teacher will also come to class to help with children’s English learning activity. The English and Chinese teachers are present in class at all times, so that they will have adequate communication and interaction with children. Our teachers are experienced early childhood educators, who are warm and enthusiastic individuals and value each child's strengths and needs. Our excellent student to teacher ratio means that our teacher can observe and track the details of each individual, and give appropriate guidance and support whenever needed.
